What comes up in the reviews
The peace
“A haven of peace”, “the silence”, “total disconnection”: the most frequent words. The village is tiny, the garden walled, and every room has its own entrance.
The welcome
“Attentive without being intrusive”, “discreet”, “full of good advice”. Staff score 9.8/10 on Booking.com — the house's best mark.
Breakfast
“Worthy of a four-star hotel”: fresh-squeezed orange juice, home-made yoghurts, rice pudding, yoghurt cake and jams, served by the fire in the library.
Pool and hammam
The “big plus” for many, “ideal on rainy days”, loved by children and couples alike. A pool “bigger than in the photo”.
The table d'hôtes
“Exquisite”, “refined”, “a real cordon bleu”: Florence cooks everything herself. Several guests wished they had booked it.
The library
The room everyone talks about: fireplace, floor-to-ceiling shelves, leather armchairs, classical music at breakfast.

« My husband and I had a wonderful stay. The accommodation is beautiful. The location is stunning. David and Florence looked after us so well. Lovely breakfast every morning. We ordered dinner one night, Florence is a brilliant cook, the three course meal was super, eaten in the stunning courtyard. We enjoyed the use of the pool every day. »
« This is an extremely charming and peaceful estate with very tasteful decorations in the spacious and comfortable rooms. The gardens are a delight as is the food that is prepared with elegance and love by the hosts. Conveniently located for so much exploration, being close to the A16 route from Calais to Paris. »
« It was an incredibly quiet place with a beautiful design. I loved the room and especially the bathroom — great water pressure and an easy-to-use thermostat. Breakfast in the cozy library house with a fireplace and freshly squeezed juices was just perfect. »
« The place is incredible. So serene and lovely. Super well kept and glorious. The host is most probably the nicest person I have met. »
« Le Puits d'Angle — just like home. Very cozy and quiet, an ideal place to stay as a contrast to the lively Olympic Paris. The hosts are wonderful and helpful. Breakfast in the study room will be unforgettable… »
« We stayed with a friend because there was a wedding nearby. It was such a delightful surprise. The breakfast was so curated, and the tranquility and greenery of the place enriched our journey. »
« I loved everything. Carefully decorated with great taste. Comfortable bed and spacious beautiful room. Really good quality breakfast. You leave feeling you would like to stay much longer. »
« A most enjoyable stay! Breakfast was a real treat: beautifully presented, generous and indulgent, enjoyed by the fireside. The welcome was exceptional, with hosts attentive to every detail. The bathtub was particularly pleasant, as was the hammam. »
« Florence and David are so attentive. The table d'hôtes is delicious — and we had asked for a vegan meal on top. We made the most of the pool, which is bigger than in the photo, not to mention the restful garden. »
« Breakfast is worthy of a four-star hotel: home-made orange juice, yoghurts and jams! The pool and hammam are a real plus. Unbeatable value, highly recommended for a weekend for two. »
« We spent a very pleasant weekend with five couples. The hosts are very friendly, the food excellent, and they make an outbuilding available so friends can dine together. We really felt at home! »
« From booking to departure the owners were charming. Our room was large and well equipped, breakfast delicious. We also took the dinner option: a three-course menu both simple and with a touch of originality. »
What we have learned
- Breakfast is sweet by tradition; several guests would have liked something savoury. Now you only need to ask the evening before: eggs, ham or cheese will be on the table.
- The pool is reached through the garden and has no changing room: we say so clearly, and suggest you bring a bathrobe and flip-flops.
- Midweek and off-season, restaurants nearby are scarce: we recommend the table d'hôtes, or we book for you in Gisors.
- Our toiletries are simple and the hairdryer is available on request — we would rather tell you beforehand than leave you looking.
