Practical info

Practical info

Everything worth knowing before you arrive — and what you won't need to ask.

Arrival and departure

What time can we check in?

From 3.30 pm, until 10 pm. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage and enjoy the garden or the pool while the room is prepared. Please let us know your approximate arrival time.

And check-out?

By 11.30 am. A later departure is often possible midweek — just ask.

How do we find the house?

2, rue des Tilleuls, in the heart of the village of Thibivillers. The gate opens onto a gravel courtyard with the parking. Sat-navs know the address; we send a map with the confirmation.

The stay

Is breakfast included?

Yes, always. It is served from 8 to 10 am in the library or the garden; earlier on request the day before (golfers, early trains).

Can we have dinner on site?

Yes, at the table d'hôtes, on reservation 24 hours ahead: €39 per person, three courses with wine. We strongly recommend it midweek and off-season, when nearby restaurants are closed; otherwise Gisors (10 min) and Chaumont-en-Vexin have a few good tables, and we book for you.

Is the pool open all year?

Yes: it is indoor, heated and reserved for guests; so is the hammam. Just tell us when you would like to use it. It is reached through the garden and there is no changing room: bring a swimsuit, bathrobe and flip-flops. Children use it under their parents' supervision.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, fibre (690 Mb/s), free, in the rooms and the library.

Do the rooms have private bathrooms?

All of them: bath or shower depending on the room, and a separate toilet. Soap and shower gel are provided; bring your favourite products. Hairdryer on request.

Can we smoke?

The house is non-smoking; the garden is yours.

Children, pets, accessibility

Are children welcome?

Of course. Free cot and high chair; extra bed €20/night per extra guest. Garden, table tennis, pool with parents.

Do you accept pets?

By prior arrangement only, depending on the room and the period. Tell us when booking.

Is the house accessible?

Two rooms are on the ground floor (Judeline and Reinette), with a few steps at the entrance to the property; the others are upstairs via a staircase. Call us to discuss: we will do our best.

Booking and payment

How do we book?

Through the contact form, by email or by phone: we confirm within 24 hours. You can also book on Booking.com or Gîtes de France, but the direct rate is the best.

How do we pay?

Cash, bank transfer or French cheque on site — we have no card terminal; card for bookings via Booking.com. A deposit may be requested for stays of more than 3 nights or for the whole house.

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival for direct bookings; after that, the first night is due; less than 24 hours before arrival, or for a no-show, the full stay is due. Tourist tax (€0.50 per adult per night) is paid on site.

Do you speak English?

Yes — we speak French and English.

Around the house

Where can we shop?

Bakery, supermarket and pharmacy in Chaumont-en-Vexin (10 min). Markets: Chaumont on Tuesdays, Gisors on Fridays and Sundays.

Can we come without a car?

Yes, by train to Gisors (15 minutes from the house) then taxi; we give you the numbers. On site, everything is on foot or by bike; for sightseeing, a car remains more practical.

Can we charge an electric car?

No dedicated charger at the house; public chargers are available in Chaumont-en-Vexin and Gisors. A domestic socket can help out — ask us.
